Aspect ratio calculator
Calculate image and video dimensions for any aspect ratio.
OUTPUT DIMENSIONS
Keep the proportions, change the size
Choose an aspect ratio or enter your own ratio width and height. Enter the desired output width to calculate the matching pixel height.
Worked example
At a 9:16 ratio and 1080-pixel width, the height is 1080 × 16 ÷ 9 = 1920 pixels. At 16:9 and 1920-pixel width, the height is 1080 pixels.
Limits worth knowing
The formula is height = output width × ratio height ÷ ratio width. The result is rounded to a whole pixel. This calculates dimensions; it does not crop or resize a file. Some encoders require even dimensions. Check the actual requirements of your editor or destination.
Does it crop my image?
No. It calculates dimensions. Use the image compressor to resize proportionally; cropping is not included.
