Move subtitles between editing workflows
Paste basic SRT or WebVTT cues, or open a UTF-8 subtitle file. Select the output format and an optional timing shift. Positive shifts delay subtitles; negative shifts move them earlier.
Worked example
A cue at 00:00:01,000 with a +2-second shift becomes 00:00:03.000 in WebVTT. Cue text is retained, including Unicode characters.
Limits worth knowing
This converts file format and timestamps, not language. WebVTT notes, styles, regions and positioning settings are rejected rather than silently removed. Negative shifts that move a cue before zero are rejected. Formatting tags remain in the text and may be interpreted differently by your destination player. Check exported captions in your video editor. No transcription, AI translation or video extraction is performed.
Will it translate my subtitles?
No. This tool changes subtitle format and timing. It does not translate or generate captions.
